Sentosa Island – Singapore

You cannot visit Singapore without visiting the Sentosa Island, the “island resort” that is home to luxurious residences, Siloso beach and Universal Studios.  We decided to take the cable car to Sentosa Island, only realising too late that you can actually get there by car or monorail as well for less than what we paid for.  Oh well, cable car was much more fun anyways :-).

Singapore

Singapore, we have arrived :-).  A little bittersweet because this marks the end of our Asia trip but quite glad that we are back in a country where everything is more convenient and modern amenities is right at your fingertips.

Ho Chi Minh – Vietnam

We had the smoothest short flight from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh and I am grateful for that because the hubby does not fly well.  We initially wanted to go to Cambodia prior to Vietnam but because we didn’t organise the Visa paperwork on time, we decided to head straight to Vietnam instead and spend a couple of days there before flying to Singapore.

I have always been fascinated with Vietnam – the food, the people, the culture and its history.  Unfortunately we only had few days in this country which was such a shame as I would have loved to see the northern part of this country too.  Anyways, here’s the photo diary of our trip to this fascinating country :-).

Pho goodness! It was probably 30 degrees outside but we didn’t care, it was so good :-).
More Pho goodness 🙂

Bangkok – Thailand

Ah Bangkok.  Of course we couldn’t finish our trip in this country without stopping in this city.  I must say that after spending some time in small towns, it was nice to be back in the hustle and bustle of a city where everything is accessible. Our first night out was at the Sky Bar at the Tower Club Lebua where the Hang Over Part 2 were filmed. The bar is located on the 63rd floor,  where it is suspended on a precipice over the city (820 feet in the air!) and apparently is “the highest bar of its kind in the world”.  Like any other famed bar/restaurant, the drinks were a little steep but because of the spectacular views, I still think it’s definitely worth checking out.

Ao Nang – Thailand

Ho! Ho! Ho! It’s been 5 months since my last post.  I have no excuse except that life got in the way :-).

Today’s post is going to be short and sweet.  Continuing on my Asia Trip throwback travel series, we caught a ferry from Ko Phi Phi to Ao Nang in the province of Krabi.  Sadly, my Ao Nang photos were lost while we were doing a back up and all I have are few photos taken from my iPhone.  Out of all the places we’ve been to in Thailand, Ao Nang by far would be my favourite.  We had the nicest accommodation (we stayed at Ananta Burin Resort) and had the most relaxing stay.  Some of the things we did in Ao Nang:

  • Went to see a ‘Lady Boy‘ show because why not?  It was quite entertaining and kudos to those lady boys because they put on a really good show and the costumes were quite spectacular.
  • Spent over an hour kayaking Ao Thalane through large coastal mangrove swamps and through a canyon.
  • A trip to the local market never gets old.
  • Ate lots and lots of good food with Margaritas on the side.  Our fave was dinner at the Hilltop Restaurant.

Phuket – Thailand

Happy hump day lovelies 🙂  Today’s post will be a photo diary of our Phuket trip.

We only stayed in Phuket town for 2 days and I think it was more than enough.  To be honest I didn’t think much of this town, if anything I found it a little lacklustre.  But I think part of it is because we are too excited to move on to Ko Phi Phi and see what the hype is all about.

We LOVE this little pastry shop, not only it's super cheap it's also yummy :-)

Yay for 2014!

My excuse for the last 2 years haha
My excuse for the last 2 years haha

Indeed, time flies when you are having fun.  It’s been almost 2 years since my last post!  Admittedly, I have been extremely lazy posting on this blog but never fear as I will be posting snap shots of the last 2 years of my adventures/mis-adventures over the coming days (maybe weeks too lol).

PS:  Don’t know if you noticed but I changed the name of my blog! Yay!  Because 1) I feel like the new name is more apt to my new life now 🙂 and 2) I feel like it’s time for a change to mark a fresh start since I have been lazy on this blog lol.

Life is grand

Since my last post, spring is definitely well and truly here :-). Being back to work is not so bad either, except for the fact that I’m uber jealous that fiance spends his days surfing while I’m stuck in the office working away. The only consolation is that I’m spoiled when I get home and that I can shop for unnecessary necessary things again :-).

Between organising the wedding, fiance’s visa application, planning the honeymoon trip and working, life couldn’t be more grand.
